With the Certainty of the Tides, Rise
The words of Maya Angelou resonate deeply:
“Just like moons and like suns,
With the certainty of tides,
Just like hopes springing high,
Still I’ll rise.”
My last writing spoke of storms and defeats. But what happens after the storm? When the winds die down and you assess the damage, a natural reaction is fear. Your mind, body, and soul scream to shut down. Yet, falling apart is a luxury most of us don’t have. The only option is to get up and keep going.
In a world full of uncertainty, we must hold on to the certainty within ourselves. Angelou’s line—”with the certainty of the tides”—is a reminder that the one constant is you. At the end of the day, you must show up for yourself. We so often put others before us that we forget to pour love, energy, and wisdom into our own being first. When you nourish your mind, body, and spirit, the universe feels that and gives it right back.
So, like the sun and the moon, with the certainty of the tides…RISE
